M2M - Wireless Steam Trap Monitoring
Q. How can M2M aid in Steam Trap data Monitoring?
A. The issue is NOT about what data i.e. temperature, flow, pressure etc., or even about the sensor / method. It’s about how to collect, transmit, and even control i.e. condition monitoring pro-active capability. Temperature monitoring can also be used to identify hot or chilled water leaks in distributed heat systems. With a GSM/GPRS module, two binary inputs for alarm counting, 2 Analog inputs 0 – 2.5V, running on Battery Only (DC Power) with very low energy consumption, the GPRS module sleeping only to wake by a binary alarm timer or both, we are able to monitor (Temp., Flow, Pressure, etc.) the Steam Trap. Remote montoring station allows savings on regular field or montlly walk by check ups.
